We did a Dover-Calais booze cruise yesterday for the first time in decades. All in all the duty free savings were typically 40-50% and a superb lunch was enjoyed in Calais. What really struck me though was the bureaucracy coming back on the French side. We had to present our passports three times at different booths - 1. Checking in to the sailing 2. For the French to insert an exit stamp 3. UK Border Force check.
Then our boot was checked for illegal immigrants.
Heaven help anyone coming back from a skiing break at half term it’s going to be chaos.
P.s. watching the news just now it struck me that many were worried that Corbyn would drag is back to the 70’s politically speaking, and yet here we are anyway with strikes everywhere and double digit inflation looming.

Coming back from Belgium in the Coupe (via the chunnel) I got a passport inspection by the British Border Force and waved through. I might have had a few bottles in the back from a supermarket. It was good value compared to the UK still.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

On the few occasions I have driven back to Blighty from France I have had zero problems on the French side. Pretty much no checks, just smiles and "bon voyage"! Anyone would think it had something to do with a LHD car and French plates 🤔

The last time I came back through Calais the french police officer insisted I open the boot on the +4.
