I have ordered a Plus Four and will be receiving my US version "sometime" in 2023.
I have noticed some discussion on this forum about the sound and noise level of the exhaust options.
In a communication with the Morgan factory, I said that the days of a noisy exhaust no longer excite me... I get enough noise from my 3W. Does the Sport option have any effect on power output or mileage? The response was short and not very detailed, all the person said was: " I would suggest that not ordering a sports exhaust is the best solution for you"
Anybody here care to expand on the Plus Four exhaust options. I have seen the term "fruity" while describing the exhaust note... fruity means something entirely different in the States.
Is one of the options simply a flapper valve that is opened to bypass the muffler? We did this to our hot rods in the 50's.
Thanks!

My Plus Four is 22MY (automatic) and has the standard exhaust. It is not very loud but does tend to drone at times. It also pops and bangs when in Sport/Sport +. I have listened to a car fitted with the sports exhaust and would say that it is quieter than the standard system when in "normal" but then pops and bands a lot more in Sport/Sport +. If I were to spec the car again I would go for the sports exhaust although the £2,000.00 asking price is very steep.
You really need to listen to both before making a decision.

Having driven Plus Four and Six with standard exhausts I noticed both had an annoying drone at town speeds not helped by the auto box shifting to a very high gear when in normal Drive. I put this down to the lateral rear silencer box they both have. The side pipes on my Roadster can also cause a less noticeable drone, but it dissappears completely on very light or trailing throttle.
