I’d rather fill the holes with more storage and listen to the engine sound.

In the arp4 the sound system was already with 4 loudspeakers and a subwoofer.
I never used it as the sound of the exhaust and from the trottle bodies was so loud.

Another Steely Dan fan here.... smile Now played through recently purchased KEF LS60's.

Like many on here, I suffer from tinnitus too - I used to have a recording studio (where Sennheiser was the only headphone choice) and that's what's caused it.

I can't say I am too bothered about audio reproduction in my Morgan - I suspect it would be difficult to achieve high fidelity and not worth the effort.

Even if this is a detour of the topic, for those who like Steely Dan this documentary below linked is a real treasure, for those who don't know it yet, the making of the album "Aja".
For those who don't know Steely Dan, Donald Fagen and Walter Becker, they were absolute perfectionists, but for whom musicality was the most important goal. It was "normal" that for a piece 8 guitarists had to dance to deliver a 20 second solo. And these were not just any guitarists, but the cream of their time, people like Larry Carlton etc. I think the video must have be done in the early 2000 or late 90s.
