My iPhone has stopped detecting the Plus Six Bluetooth system for a few weeks now but works with other Bluetooth devices. Can’t see any info in the handbook or online.

Are there any on/off switches? What is the name or code to search for when trying to identify if it is visible to a device?

Clipper , on my 19 plate plus 6 it reads on my iPhone in Bluetooth menu as M2. Sometimes it doesn’t automatically connect, so I go into phone menu, put it in airplane mode for a few seconds then put airplane mode off. It then connects every time. Worth a go.

Think the fuse has blown on the 12v socket - wonder if it took out the Bluetooth as well - hands, knees torch and handbook time.

Located the fuses above the passenger footwell - quite a good set up actually with the two easily removable fixings holding the aluminium cover with the fuse diagram on the cover reverse.

Problem is the 12v fuse is intact, so both the 12v socket and blue tooth are out of action for some reason. Not critical - will have to be a dealer fix at next service.

The soundstream unit will likely have it's own fuse, it would be worth testing this although the fact that 12v socket has popped as well might indicate something different as you say. Think of it as a car amplifier with a built in Bluetooth receiver.

From memory it might be this unit or a slightly older version.

On one picture you can see the green 30amp fuse. If this went (did it get wet?) it might take out upstream fuses?

I have yet to find the amplifier in my own Coupe!

Popular choices in Aero's I am told are

1. Under the passenger seat.
2. At the feet end of the passenger footwell behind a plate screwed to the engine bulkhead. (Aero thing)

My amp is in neither position!

The kenwood amp in a CX plus four is behind the upright panel containing the rear speakers. It is( in my car anyway) beside the passenger side speaker ( it is a right hand drive car!)

On my MY22 PlusFour the kenwood amp is in the panel behind the speakers. Incidentally the Bluetooth receiver unit is under the glove compartment at front of car. Photos attached if helpful, BTW easing out the panel clips along the top edge (see 2nd photo) needs some care.

Your car is the same as mine- as there is no fader facility in the standard setup and very little volume from the front speakers, I installed a pioneer radio in the panel to the right of the driverssid speaker. I connected the radio to the amp instead of the musicstream unit. I now hav full fader control via the radio and all music from my phone through the Bluetooth connection to the radio. Pioneer provides an app to remotely control the radio via my iPhone. All problems solved!!

Which Pioneer radio did you use? I have picked out for me the SPH-10BT.

CLPlusfour, it was me that fitted the radio - it is a Pioneer MVH-S410BT - the BT bit is important as this signifies Bluetooth. I think this is now superseded by the model MVH- S420BT - either will work fine . You then download the app “ Smart Synch” to use the phone as remote and thi also allows remote adjustment of the radio such as fader etc.
I am presently on holidays in Austria so do not have access to the photos of the install but it is fairly intuitive- just connect the radio output via MCA lead to the input of the amplifier instead of the Musicstream leads

Sony DSX-A510BD is another Bluetooth capable radio that can be controlled by their app on smartphone for DAB/FM reception. It also allows music streaming, Google maps voice directions (very useful) and hands free phone with optional external mic.

We upgraded our Bluetooth sound system to an Alpine unit of much higher quality and functionality, with new high quality speakers (Alpine, rear only).
So much better than the pretty rubbish system originally supplied in the car but I don't listen to it much anyway as it is difficult to hear over over the B58 and I need to concentrate on not crashing :-)

P.S.
The Alpine unit has a built in subwoofer that greatly improves the sound when you can hear it.

You connect the radio to the amp, but dont you need a 12v supply line?
