This is just a warning flag for other Plus Six owners. If you scratch the perspex sidescreens be aware they are coated. You will not be able to polish out the scratch without polishing through the coating, which then looks worse than the scratch!. The reason I know this ... while investigating how the inner sidescreen covers came off I found a scratch on a sidescreen, which I had not seen before, but now I see it everytime I go in and out of the car!.. Ahh thought I, I shall simply polish that out with a perspex polish.. which I started to do, but then went through the coating!..
I then went though discussions with a dealer to source a replacement sidescreen section for the Plus Six which had the scratch.. The factory only suppy them as a complete kit which covers all the perspex sidescreens for both sides of the car!. So you can not buy just one part of the sidescreen. They are eye watering expensive!!.

I don't think the coating is too fancy. Probably anti scratch. Certainly not anti mist, on some sidescreens!

If it's anti scratch it didn't work too well.

Remove the defective screen and take it as a sample to a company that processes acrylic parts. Two years ago, a new screen with a fitted sliding knob cost me around €80.

The problem ( if it is a problem ) is that the inner coating on the acrylic sidescreen gives it a slight tint, hence when the coating is polished through the polished area shows as a lighter colour. Using a non MMC variant It will look weird having one screen section clear and the others with a slight tint, unless of course all 4 were replaced with non manufacturers versions. The original fixed forward section of sidescreen is printed on its front forward edge with V111/A/M then a E5 within a circle and finally 43R-00062 I assume these indicate the spec and part number for whoever produced it?.
