Hi All,

I am a new member, just joined

My name is Jon Van Der Pey, my wife is Ariane.
My daughter Karen may figure too some time, she is used to borrow my cars (especially the 928 she liked)

I had several Citroens (DS23 Pallas, Traction Avant 4) and a MGBRV8 as well as a Saab Turbo 6 convertible.

This Morgan 8 (the blue one in SA) is hopefully be much more valuable in many respects...

I still need to go and get it, once I have the funds together.

I am thinking of driving over in our truste BMW X1 diesel , tour around SA a bit if it is not too hot.
Then hire a car trailer, put the Morgan on and dive back to Perth.

The hie trailer to be shipped back on a truck or train.

Would that be a good plan ?

Driving the Morgan across the Nullarbor may be a bit tedious and prone to damage, I thought.

I thought of building a tmp. screen around the front of the hire-trailer to stop chipping.

Looking forward to meet at the next Club meet.

Welcome to TM Jon. Hope the trip works out for you. Can't comment on the Nullarbor - only done it by rail smile

Welcome to TM Jon.

Good luck with the transfer trip.

You might want to check the maximum towing weights on an X1 to ensure that it is rated as having sufficient towing capacity for your plan.
