[Linked Image
See the smaller lower wire. This is the other end of the “Bowden” cable from the dash control. I used some mintex brake grease to lube the cable. It is high temperature tolerant. You gain access via a heater vent, which are held in via a spring clip across the back.

Funny my text gone missing.
Smaller wire is the other end of “Bowden” cable from the dash control i lubed it using mintex brake grease as high temp tolerant. Access via one of the vents that are held in via a spring clip across the back.
Mind you Morgan have changed how they control the heater every 5 mins it would seem. Mine 2011 4/4

What’s the technique for removing and replacing these vents in their housing box?

By the look of it Chris, a similar technique to fitting/removing ceiling spot lights. Typically two spring loaded tangs grip and hold blindly in place. Gently prizing out one side of fitting then bending tangs towards each other when able should allow withdrawal.

Agreed - it must be as you say Richard.

It was access to the tangs that I struggled with in an incredibly awkward location.

The way I got it to release was to gently pull the vent until the frame was released. Then move it to one side & using long nosed pliers, “jiggled” the wire free. Then move the vent unit the other way until it releases. Replacing is the opposite, but caution the wire clip does not interfere with the heater controls.
Mine was also a bit brittle & getting oneself across the seats on your side with both arms free was kind of entertaining.
