I have a '65 Plus 4 with a Moss transmission. I cannot move the clutch as the collar assembly is stuck. Does anyone have a remedy other than pulling out the tranny to repair?
Can I remove the bolt that holds the spring and fill the tunnel with PB Blaster or Liquid Wrench to soak the collar over night? How about heating the collar area or slot with a propane torch?

Tricky one

The only sure way to do the job properly is to remove the transmission, gearbox from rear, engine and bell housing to front.

Then you can access the clutch sleeve easily , get it freed off, cleaned up and the bell housing machined and sleeved to prevent it happening again.

You can try all sorts of release agents into every orifice on the bell housing and gentle heat, but ( I hope I am wrong) with only a limited chance of success.

If you do decide to remove the transmission , come back on here as there are several tips that you easily make use of , to future proof the work

Good luck

On my 69+8 the sliding pin broke in the slot .I managed to remove the transmission tunnel and gear lever.,then the bolts to the gearbox mounts and the bolts to the bellhousing . finally I managed to roll the gearbox upside down.luckiy the bolt thread tapped out. It was a lot ove work but less than taking the engine and box out.

.+8 Now gone for a 1800 4/4. Duratec in bright yellow.

Update: Removing the grease fitting at the top collar location and squirting PB Blaster did not work after soaking a few days. Thanks to "sprinty", I contacted Billy Bellinger and he agreed to trying to warm up the tube. Using my propane torch worked to free up the collar. Rinsed out using brake cleaner via the grease fitting opening and re-greased it. Thanks all for your input.
