I went with Hawki to AW as they were doing some trim work on his Plus Four auto. As he can't drive a manual I came along to drive the loan car. Julie at AWs though lent me a late 22 model Plus Four auto.

What fun. The better seats the modified hood etc made up a superb package.

We headed off to the Shuttleworth collection to pass the time. A volunteer got us firing the bofors gun which is real fun. It now fires a laser at targets. I have new found respect for those using these guns in WWII.

Then back to AWs to drool over the stock.= including of course photos for Graham.

Was it this one ? https://allonwhite.co.uk/used-morga...tomatic-met-alfa-romeo-russo-rubino-n102

If so, it looks very tasty indeed in the walk-round video on their website. As an ex-demo, is it sufficiently discounted at £6K under the current equivalent list price ?

Thanks for posting the pictures. I need to go to Shuttleworth over and above the annual service visit to AW.

John V6 ... sorry to have missed you ... the old girl looks fairly rough and ready in such well-groomed and sparkly company .... suits me fine though! 🙂 .... wasn't there long, just unloaded, quick cup of coffee and chat about some details of the new hood then it was back on the road ... now back up in Yorkshire where I'll be spending the week the hood will take with some of my relatives ... clocked up 735 miles towing the Mog in a big race shuttle in one and a half days ... looking forward to sitting still for a bit 🙂

Hopefully we can catch up another time

Back to your pics ... Mrs Image andI had a flight in a Dragon Rapide that used to be based near Caernarfon at an old ex-wartime base ... was odd being in such a big and enclosed tail-dragger .... fun though.

Love Shuttleworth and tend to go once a month or so - we're members of the Shuttleworth Vintage Aviation Society so get free entry. The gardens are really nice and peaceful to have a wander round too. AND they do a fabulous vegan breakfast smile

Plan to volunteer there when I retire.

I spent some time on HMS Orkney as a Navy Cadet and had a fun hour or so trying to blast a floating crate (with a Father Christmas on top) out of the North Sea with a Bofors 40mm Mk3. I got a little over enthusiastic and jammed it at one point......
