Hello All,
I have been an avid reader of TM since buying our 2016 Plus 4 in 2018. It has been very informative and often amusing reading. I have also found all the info posted on maintaining the Morgan invaluable, thanks DaveW plus others.
My Morgan journey started with the Plus4, we have been delighted with it. We were not looking for a “modern” Mog and started looking initially for a Triumph engined version from the sixties as we have a 63 TR4 which we have owned for circa 16 years.
At the time it was a fruitless search, and thoughts went to a more modern option, having recently sold our TR6, and SHMBO didn’t want another car that stank of petrol.
We test drove a couple of MOGs at RTCC and it soon choose us as it’s keeper.
So that’s a brief intro, but hopefully a bit of info for Goodwood fans as a recent post indicated finding accommodation a problem.
A very good friend has just finished converting part of a barn and just launched an upstairs apartment on Airbnb, it’s called The Hayloft and is located in Chidham, around 8 miles from the circuit. Sleeps 2, one bed, so great for a couple. https://airbnb.com/h/the-hayloft-chidham
Its owned by a classic car enthusiast, (Lotus, but nobody is perfect) so a hose to wash your P&J, has a well equipped garage to sort out niggles should they occur. Access is via electric gates so secure, and lovely accommodation in an equine setting and pub 5 minutes walk away. At the time of writing all Goodwood event dates were available, so thought it might suit someone on TM.
Hope this is useful for someone and not breaking any rules.
Phil.

Hi Phil,

I still fondly remember the day I collected my 4/4 from RTCC 26 years ago. Taking the branch line to the Brunel-built Mortimer station was like travelling back in time before I even got in the car!

I'm sure your friend will have no problem renting his room so convenient to Goodwood. If he hasn't already, a note in the "Goodwood Events" topic on Pistonheads should do the trick.

Thanks Ian, I will mention Pistonheads to him, don’t think he will have trouble letting it out.

We chickened out of picking our Plus4 up and had it delivered down to Hayling, at the time,
on the RTCC low loader, far less stressful.

Welcome to TM Phil, your friend will have 'em queuing up to book, we stopped going to Goodwood some years ago as the prices for accommodation within a sensible drive of the event got balmy

Welcome BishMog, the Brands Hatch Morgan track day is a popular Morgan event and I will pass the accommodation details on to our members, we have the Langrish House Hotel booked so many can attend this, we have a spare day so may visit the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard or some other venue to get the requisite cars in a line shot for our publicity!
