If the first issue can be found on the newstands - I'll read it and go from there.

As for the subscription issue, I'm disappointed but not surprised, I never seem to win things. But I do wonder if there is a quite innocent explanation of the survey response issue as I wonder if Survey Monkey accurately records the time of response. I'd not put it past them to collate the data some other way and the time of response to be not logged. Not worth losing sleep over though, that's for sure.

Uncle Melvyn has published a Morgan World magazine for several years. It is probably quarterly. being produced by someone who was called Melvyn Morgan in his formative years, I imagine that this is a well produced publication, although I've never read it or even been tempted to subscribe. Well not really. Well, not enough to subscribe. I wonder what the circulation of this magazine is like?
Now we have a monthly magazine which initially appeared to be an MMC effort, (or maybe that was my assumption), but by the look of it is being created by writers who are not known on here, and may not know the detail of Morgan. It's a limited interest market and so far as advertising goes, to advertise in Miscellany guarantees coverage of existing club members. Of course, anyone wishing to buy a Morgan for the first time might well pick up a copy at WHS.
My problem with Marque specialist mags is that if you're active in the owners club, and active in seeking out the heritage of your chosen classic, a magazine won't tell you much else. News is well covered already on the MMC website, and other Mog related websites. So that's why I'll be in the wait and see camp.

PS Just had a second VIP offer........

I'd say it's a brave entrepreneur who launches any new and unknown offering into the consumer/subscriber magazine bearpit right now - when most are losing money, and many are heading for the exit marked "digital only". So I guess these guys deserve credit for trying - especially in a distinctly minority market like ours.

I do, however, think that the free subscription "offer" was handled in a remarkably unprofessional way, and does them no credit whatsoever.

I'll reserve further judgement - like most of you here I suspect - until I see the goods (regardless of my alleged "VIP" status rofl)

Might have been interesting - complete career change... But future titles might include knitting, or needlework and I really can't see myself doing research along those lines rofl

Cheers,

Been a subscriber to Melvyn's TMW since day one Dave.
The schedule has slipped a bit over the last couple of years, so it doesn't come out quarterly any longer, but you still get 4 issues for your subscription. Melvyn will print a lot of technical info. that Miscellany just doesn't touch (or refuses to accept?).

I've also had a second VIP offer for MogMag and decided to give it a chance. If they take on the techie stuff that the club mag ignores, then jolly good on them.

Ian - it would be good to see the magazine in front of the likes of Porsche / Mini etc titles, too (says he who has, or does, own both those marques)!

Cheers,

You've no shortage of reading material then Graham, sadly no one has yet sought to cater for us Rav4 owners. Luckily one of my other interests is the study of almonds, cashews and pistachios which does have a magazine (at least that's what I told Mrs. W. it's about wink )

I'll give this one a go too, as Jay says it's little more than the price of a meal out so nothing to lose.
