I have a bad bout of sciatica and find it hard to walk so part of the time I've been re-reading roadtests and the above comments surface(ho ho) over and over again. In desparation the other day I lowered myself into the Morgan and went for a drive.Bliss! Even my first Morgan (76 4/4) which was firm, was comfortable. Our current one is tied down pretty well but it was great to find that it was still good for my back. So HAH take that you journalist softies.

Same for me, uncomfortable after a few minutes in my wifes new Golf, drove 370 miles to Cornwall in the Morgan last summer and no problems (except for a sun burnt head)

Same here. Happy and comfortable to drive anywhere in the Morgan. The tin-top, even though I can adjust the seat many ways, I can not get correct.

So, what are they going on about.? If I drive to England and back, sure I'm tired but not uncomfortable whereas though I find the driving position reasonably comfortable in our Fabia, it is nowhere near as easy as the Morgan over a long distance.

Is it just that the test drive is of necessity, a short one and we have become so used to the rubbery-ness of cars in general.?

When we visited the factory in October last year the hire company "upgraded" us to a Fiat 500 Abarth. The car was fun but I found it noisy and that the ride was somewhat harsh. By comparison when we drove the factory Plus 4 demonstrator I found the ride surprising comfortable.

PS. Starting the countdown to delivery. Sent off the payment for the car today and I am just waiting to finalise some details before sending off the funds to pay for the options. With the mild winter we have had we could have used it almost every day so far.

We have a Fiat 500 Abarth 695 and the ride is the hardest of any of our cars and not helped by the very short wheelbase either. It is though as you say great fun to drive and sometimes surprises the drivers of much larger vehicles!

Great news about your Plus 4, when do you hope to take delivery and are you coming to the Works to collect it?

The plan at the moment is to collect it from the works in the second week of March. Return itinerary still being decided.
