I had the Morini 500 Sport. Not quite the same as the classic 3½ Sport but with a bit more poke.

It's a ringer for the old Royal Enfield GT Looks loverly- as did the orignal bike but alas even then the spec was so antiquated that it just didn't cu it when compared to machines like the 25o Honda Benly ( especially in Glden Dream form)
Still, it's a lovely bit of nostalgia

My second road registered bike was a Honda CB 72 250cc. I discovered the factory made a club racing kit and I tricked it out with the full works except for the seat which was unavailable. I had to work it a bit but managed to keep up with Triumph 650s without too much trouble.
That must have been about 1966.

I think that's about the right date. I know that " Motor Cycle" tested the Enfiled Continental GT in about 65 or 66 by sending it ona " round Britain tour"
It was, as happened with a couple of the Brit bikes then " too little too late"

I still have an old newspaper clipping somewhere showing a quote by Sir Bernard Docker of AMC fame. He said, " The British motorcylist will never fall for gimic ssuch as tewelve volt electrics and electric starters"
