As a suggestion to Morgan: why not consider the The Duratec 2.5 L I-4 that is identical to the Mazda MZR 2.5L engine. Power has been increased to 175 hp@6000 rpm and 172 lb-ft@4500 rpm torque. It is the smoothest and quietest Duratec 4-cylinder. (source Wikipedia)

On second thoughts I have decided to move this to a new thread.

The speedo is positioned as far away from the driver as possible. This because the steering wheel will interfere with your reading. As it is now the steering wheel interferes with the reading of the oilpreassure, better so! The pictures are probably from the prototypes.

Interesting post on Morgan Wire, announcing the start of Roadster production at the end of Feb.
The old Roadster produced 228 bhp & did 0-62 in 4.9 secs. The new Roadster produces 260 bhp & takes 6 secs 0-62. frown

How come it's slower to 62???
I don't bother with Mog Wire because it seems to be a tad speculative.
And the only way to know when production kicks off is when production kicks off. Jays is around the factory regularly and I'm sure he'll tip us the wink when he sees a V6 on the floor.
The power output will no doubt be tied into setting up for emissions, but if it really only has 260, when the engine can deliver over 300 easily I probably won't bother with one. Although a six speed gearbox sounds nice.

I read somewhere that they had actually de-tuned the engine. I suspect 300 hp would be pushing the limits for the trad on the public roads. Cerealsurfer could probably comment on that.

Is the engine-gearbox weight comparable with the 3.0 version? Any further influences on weight differences coming with this car? BTW acceleration and weight data on Morgans are always a topic of estimation (as we have discussed some time ago here on TM). And specs which are delivered from extern sources like mog wire may not help to answer this questions.

I heard 270 bhp for the 3.7 from a MMC source, but that was in October, how it performs on the road will be the acid test.
