I see the factory now have details of the new Roadster on their website: 260 bhp 0-62 4.9 secs ( the same as quoted for the mk1) Ian

The 0-62 is governed by the gearchange point, and most cars will need a 1st/2nd change in that sprint. But logically it should be quicker than the Series 1 to 62, by an odd tenth of a second or so. 280bhp sounds better. It was up in the air last September when we were discussing this very thing with the elders at Malvern.

I wonder if the detune from 300 bhp is deliberate? Otherwise they will be generating competition within their own trad (or classic) range ala TVR.
For me, the new Plus 8 is much closer to an Aero Mk5 than a trad. I wonder if the MMC have made an error marketing it as such?

Dear Co-Morganeers, let´s all be (or at least TRY TO be) a little more patient .... There surely will be a factory demonstator soon to prove.... (and, @ 1560: mine is ordered with a "short diff" besides all the other mentioned additional specs you & me know are essential... ) I can´t hardly wait ´til...................

(and, @ 1560: mine is ordered with a "short diff" besides all the other mentioned additional specs you & me know are essential... ) interesting, still a bit lusty to buy another RoadsterV6 but then Aero Coupe is tempting too (reliable/practical) anyway, first Maxie needs to be sold!!

Such an exciting time at MMC with new products it certainly makes it a really tough choice for anyone in the market to buy - nice problem to have though !

Wikipedia has some interesting info regarding output in different installations (from 268-305hp and up to 380 Nm): The Duratec 37 is a 3.7 L (3721 cc/227 CID) version of the Cyclone V6 intended to power heavier or premium vehicles. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Cyclone_engine
