Has anyone any ideas on raising the ride height slightly on a plus 4. I live in the Swiss Alps for my sins and the ground clearance is a bit minimal as standard, another inch or so would make a lot of difference.

An inch is a lot. More "air" between wings and wheels wouldn't look too good. Are bigger tyres a possibility?

I am trying 195/65.15 at present instead of 195/60/15.

Reprofile the rear springs, and take a bit off the rebound springs at the front, and a small spacer under the main front spring should give you half an inch all round.

Thanks for the replies, I will pester the local tyre depot with my tape measure to see what difference there is, also like Dave's idea, sounds like a bit of good engineering that shouldn't upset anything.

Reprofile the rear springs, and take a bit off the rebound springs at the front, and a small spacer under the main front spring should give you half an inch all round. Don't forget to check the shock absorbers to make sure there is enough travel to reach full extension on the new ride height.

I have been thinking about this issue because I really do have some problems with ride height. With the recommended tyre pressure careful measurement gives me an unladen clearance of about 95 mm as against the 100 mm in the owners handbook. Interestingly the specifications from about 2005 give the same clearance with two passengers. The local dealer has looked at the springs and has said they seem to be ok. If that is the case the only other factor is the tyre size.
While the car is under warranty I want to see if Morgan can come up with a solution however it seems to me that modifying the springs to increase the ride height would have the effect of increasing the gap between the tyres and the mudguards and would perhaps not look good. Increasing the tyre size from 195/60 15 to 195/65 15, according to the only Yokohama information I have found on the web, will increase the radius, and therefore the ride height by 10 mm. That would do me I think. This would be 4 mm than the radius of the 205/60 15 tyres fitted to the Roadster so I don't believe there would be a bodywork clearance problem and they would probably even look better filling the wheel arch a little more. I also noted that all 195/65 15 tyres seem to have a higher load rating than the 195/60 15.
The only difficulty that I foresee is the spare. The existing 195/60 15 is hard up against the high level brake light and it would be necessary to find some way to adjust the mounting screw down 10 mm (less than .5 inch). I am fairly sure the rear panel opening is big enough to accommodate the larger tyre size.
To be strictly legal the car documents would have to be modified to allow 195/65 tyres as an alternative and to do that an engineer's certificate would be required.
I would be very interested to read the opinions of those who have tried 195/65 15 tyres and any comments regarding differences in handling or bodywork clearance problems.
