As one of the lucky ones to qualify for the free subscription to the new MOG magazine, I was agreeably surprised to reeive the first issue today. It's a smaller format than most glossy car mags, roughly 10" by 7" (not quite A4) and just over 100 pages, but it is all Morgan in content, with a road test of the new Plus 8, a pictorial tour through the chassis build at MMC and an article on restoring a 1935 F2. I think there are moves to make it available through WH Smiths, so look out for it.
Gerry.

Got my copy this morning at my local filling station. Tried to subscribe on line but the web site advertised in the magazine doesn't exist yet. I then tried to do it by phone but they are not set up to take card payments by phone. Seems that more than the 3W is having development problems!

Smiths in Beaconsfield had their deliveries today, Friday (£3.99) and poked 5 copies half hidden on the bottom shelf.

The staff there don't seem to know what new mags are 'in' and as the Mag is 3/4 size it is easily hidden.

Anyone in your email address list I think Frank.

Presume you use webmail? And have an address list logged on line?

You need to go to your account, change your logon password - to something secure preferably... And, inform your service provider.

Cheers,

Hi all,
as this new MogMag is not going to be available in Switzerland anytime soon, I would appreciate if a TM member could get a copy for me. Of course I pay for the magazine and shipping to Switzerland. Can offer PayPal or bank transfer. Please send me a PM. Thanks a lot!

If you go to the magazine website www.mogmag.co.uk you can download a 'preview' of the first issue. You need to be patient as it seems to take a while, depending on your broadband speed.

In a word - YES!
I have every one. If you like more in the way of mechanical info. than you find in Miscellany, TMW has a better balance of articles. Some of those in Miscellany recently are a bit suspect...

Cheers,

Thanks Graham. I will give it a try. It’s good to have Mog Magazine and I will buy it, buts as reading matter it is very lightweight.

I also like MR's Morgan World - it has a nice mix of articles and tends to come out when there is sufficient content which is fine as the subscription is issue based rather than time based. I also like Miscellany and enjoyed the first issue of MOG Magazine. So far at least each title seems to complement the other with no undue overlap. I guess the more Morgan reading the better - all rounded off by the brilliant, wonderful ( and all other similar words) TM Forum of course, which is also an essential daily read.

More hours in the day are all that's needed.....

Regards,

John

Not quite true. The latest Miscellany has republished a previous MW article "Romanian Ramble", with all due acknowledgement.

I am happy to have all three publications though.

I also subscribe to Morgan World, but am not going to renew as since MR took over as Editor it is just too parochial and reads like an advertorial for MR Enterprises. nono

I decided to cull my collection of Misc. this week, a mammoth task. I've kept fifteen copies which had articles of interest relating to mechanics or restoration. I've paid my subs since 1984 but that is it for me. I hate clutter and prefer books to magazines or newspapers. The internet is a great source of information and TM provides a good daily read and folks here are very helpful, witness my recent request for advice.

Matti,

Can you explain the position for those who have recently bought new Mogs. It was suggested we would et a free subscription. Is this the case?

I guess this might not apply to 3 wheelers given the number of new owners still waiting. Cars in for a service in a few weeks I'll ask.

Out of interest has anyone had the build record through yet.

subscription for new owners is both 3 and 4 wheelers just to clarify for you all
we have this week had an influx of information from the factory re new cars sold and will be dispatching issue 2 next week to all concerned with a letter
not long now till we are ready for issue 3 which does sound unbelievable
sales information from WH Smiths showing 19% increase in sales issue 1 to 2 which is fabulous news
Thanks to all of you for supporting MOG

Interesting to find that issue 2 was only available in larger branches of WHS, visited Leek in Staffs, 2 motorway service stations and Evesham, before managing to buy a copy in Oxford!

Guess the answer is to subscribe!

Issue #2 is on the shelves of WHSmith down here in my rural backwater. Perhaps the Staffs ones had already sold out.

Having made a special journey I asked on each occasion. Not sold out just not stocked!

I picked up a copy at one of the airports earlier in the week, as I've not seen it anywhere else.

Its a nice read somewhere between Miscellany and a life style magazine, it certainly kept me entertained for my flight to the northern waste lands.

If I don't end up with a complimentary subscription as the buyer of a new car I'll certainly put my hand in my pocket for a subscription. thumbs
