What modifications have you new M3W owners made so far?

Here's my first modifications.

I Made a right angle bracket that fits behind the front numberplate to mount the tax disc holder, so that it faces the near side of the car and not the front. I think it looks better.

I removed the plastic hub caps from the front wheels. I didn't like them, much better looking without them.

I changed the long bolt from the steering wheel so that it can be removed as originally intended. It makes entry and exit much easier and the tonneau cover when fitted looks much neater with the wheel off. It's also a good anti theft device!!

I have made a thin plastic bulkhead cover that fits behind the roll bar frame behind the seats, held in with a few cable ties. This is to stop water and road muck getting onto the seat belts and up into the cabin at the sides of the seat back. My car was only driven about 2 miles in the rain when I collected it on Friday and after cleaning I noticed the seat belts were wet and dirty. I removed the plastic back wheel cover to investigate and on my car the belts are exposed to the elements. I don't think it would have taken long to knacker the belts if left uncovered.

Covers for the seat belt at the back seems like something they should have thought of from the get go. I hope they will fix it for you nicely (to avoid the plastic and cable ties).

Somewhat related, but can you get to the room behind the back rest (between the back rest and the rear bulkhead) easily? I know in the old ones, that's not a problem from what I've seen, and it would be neat to be able to leave your jacket there, or perhaps a warning triangle or something.

Also, I (still) wonder if the seat (the bum part) is detachable or can be made detachable by some sort of quick release?

I didn't even know that there was plastic hub caps on the hubs. I assumed there'd be none. Fortunately, that is easily and cheaply rectified, he he

I bought a classic motor bike tax disc holder and fitted that, I've also done the same with the steering wheel, but I'd like to replace it completely.

I've changed the location of the front number plate and when I the badge bar I've ordered arrives I'll post up some pictures.

I didn't realise the hub caps are plastic but I'll look tonight.

Some more planned mods are to follow not in any order,

decals and pin strips
mods to seat belts
interior light of some sort
fixed storage under bonnet
load fixings in boot.

I forgot to add, I am also using a motorcycle tax disc holder.
Currently I'm not running any front number plate, I think the car size letters look too big. I have asked a supplier if he can make me a car front with motorcycle size (smaller) characters, to match the 9"x7" motorcycle rear plate.

Can some of the other owners look at their rear drive belt and report back if it is running in the centre of the rear pulley or running off the edge of the rear pulley a bit.

I've looked at this a couple of time now and it does seem to move a few mill, was on the edge now a few mill towards centre.

Have you checked how true your rear wheel is running? I imagine that if it was slightly out, the belt would tend to run out from the centre of the rear pulley.

I've seen some of the pre production cars at the factory with a pronounced runout.

Wheel seems fine, I'm guessing its probably moved a little since initial installation.
