If you want better brakes after you've done the reaction bars and braided lines (which I agree are must-do items) then you might want to consider fitting 4-pot calipers rather than a servo.

Both have the advantage of increasing the braking effort distribution to favour the front wheels, the stock setup makes it too easy to lock the rears, but the 4-pot caliper option has 3 advantages over the servo route:

1. You lose a bit of weight, the alloy 4-pot calipers are lighter than the iron 2-pots
2. The 4-pots give a better braking feel
3. It's a simpler job, no need to plumb in a servo unit

Which Goodridge kit is recommended - they don't list model only year - is a 4/4 different from others re length, fitting etc or are they all the same? Or buy separate items e.g. from HoE?

I have a set of the correct EBC greens bought a year ago but not yet fitted (labelled as for an Austin Princess no less!).

Is it worth changing to silicone fluid too?

I am waiting on the delivery of Goodridge Pipes from Brakes4U (I ordered together with pads and shoes but they have arrived already...I used a discount code from the MX5 forum (s060104j) and got an additional 5% off (15% in total).

The website link for the pipes was confusing as it stated Apr-04 but then realised that it was supposed to be "4/4" (my iPad Safari browser took me to a different version of their site that confirmed my idea).

This is what has been ordered... SMN0302-3C Goodridge Stainless Steel Car Brakeline Kit

BUT I guess I will know when they arrive and try and fit them!! oops

Hi, I am new n the forum. I own a 4/4 Le Mans 62 Car No. 47

I want to fit the greenstuff plus the good ridge brake lines. I cannot find the right version ( part no.) of rather the pads nor the brake lines.

Do anybody know the right part. no.?

Thanks,

http://www.ebcbrakeshop.co.uk/files_ebc.v1 might help for pads.
Try Melvyn Rutter for braided hoses.

Think Automotive are used to supplying hoses and other bits for Morgans. No connection, but I've used them many times over the years dating back to the mid 80s.

From Think Automotive

Aeroquip TFE Racing Hose/Aeroquip 666 Aerospace hose/Moquip TFE hose

"Due to its very low ratio of expansion to pressure, this hose has
proved to be ideal for use on flexible lines in competition vehicle
braking and clutch systems providing a desirable “hard” pedal with
re duced travel. It does not con form to existing standards laid down
for normal road vehicles, if subjected to continuous flexing the
stainless steel strands will eventually fracture and could penetrate
the Teflon liner, how ever this eventuality does not occur within the
normal life of a competition vehicle, this hose in common with all
other components used on such vehicles should be regularly in -
spected for signs of wear."
