Hello out there!
Washed my car for the first time today.
And as I have noted before some of the cast aluminium parts in the engine compartment looks very dull. As these parts does not have a smooth surface it seems hard to get them cleaned.
It is not my intention to have it in concours condition but at least it would be nice to have it clean.
Is there anyone of you who have any suggestions.

Try a spray with some carb cleaner and wipe off with a cloth.

WD40 is bad for this as it attracts moisture, so then dirt. The chain lubricant is marvellous stuff for lots of things but I'm dubious it too won't attract dirt.

Not sure what fits the bill as what you need is something that works as a varnish and is easy to remove when you want to clean.

agreed, but most Morg owners clean every week anyway, heat resistant Lacquers are available for long term remedy, but from what i read on these sites especially Trad owners want to tinker and polish, more than drive, works well on a very expensive MTB which is recleaned after each weekend of thrashing over the hills and through the poodles !!!
