Bummer.

What about getting a tube that goes slightly up and out bend into shape, that has a smaller tube inside to fit into the ends of the chassis tubing (think "beach buggy front en miniature")?

If you do it like that (or similar), you can use a small screw/hex to fasten it in each tube.

If you remove the front number plate holder you are left with 2 ugly looking ends of chassis tube. I've been looking around for decorative items to put on the ends, hence the cricket balls as a suggestion.

Hope this helps.

Did also think about these

A quick update on my latest modifications / changes:

Exhaust heat shields now refinished in black powdercoat. There should be a sufficient air gap from the exhaust pipe to stop the coating from burning. I see on the latest MMC price list that black heat shields are now available as a £200 + vat option.

Removed the naff 'hot' sticker on top of the engine, in fact it had already started to lift on one edge.

Made up a battery tender lead to plug into the accessory socket.

Got my factory paint touch up and tended to a few minor paint stone chips.

I have also bought the MMC outdoor fitted cover.
