Guys thanks for the encouraging and positive response. A true community. I'll go and try the heater controls and see if I can shut it down. I think I've currently 3 clicks so there's another one or two in there. We're off to the continent in June so I really need the fan to turn off. Mark. The fan has only 3 positions: Off, low, and high. The heater control is the knob with a sort of wave on it, on the LHD car it is on the right but I think it is the same on RHD cars. When it is off the symbol is horizontal. Down under the dash in front of the brake lever there are two vents which can be adjust for opening and angle of air flow. They are aimed towards the seats. On either side of those, at the side of the footwell, there are another two vents aimed towards the sides of the car. These can also be closed or have the direction of airflow changed. Hope this helps

Mark, If the heater knob, bottom right with a sort of wave on it, is properly off (anti-clockwise) any air that arrives should be outside air temperature and not hot. Perhaps in heavy traffic you would get some hot air from the radiator and the motor itself but not from the heater core. If you are still getting hot air with the knob completely anti-clockwise there may be a problem with the connection. For me, looking at your photos, it seems off but it may be rotated half a turn. Try rotating it fully clockwise and fully anti-clockwise. Wirewheel confirmed there should be 5 clicks.
I'm not sure exactly where the interior ventilation draws its air from.

Krossek,
I found that waiting, deciding and generally fact finding was so positively assisted by this web forum that it was almost as if I already had the car and was only missing the log book. These guys will help the time go in for you, and I (and I'm sure all of them) wish you the very best for it when it comes. Thats true. I enjoy this forum and the friendly atmosphere every day.

A great read of first drive impressions. Bonnet catches - my bonnet will only open if the rear catch is undone first! (me or the Morgan?)

Instructions say rear first to undo, last to fasten.
