While wandering around y/day I spotted a classic Riley and went over to look over it . A Swift 2 seater dark blue with the words super swift painted on the bonnet . It was a bit rough I dont think it had seen any TLC in its life but a nice shaped car . A chap arrived jumped in and was about to start it . I asked him a few questions , then came what have you got a Morgan , his reply was poor bugger, as he shot off up the road smoke bellowing out of the rear . You meet all kinds .

What a jerk...I hope that none of us Morgan drivers would say that, even if we do feel sorry for that guy in his Corvette.

Agree totally. perhaps the point of this is ( and I don't want to second guess John T who will I am sure have his own take on this?) is what the hell is such a phiulistine doing driving a nice piece of kit like that Riley

Ah well, wealth distribution has no taste

I mostly just walk away these days and wonder why people are so rude what does it prove, a bad upbringing ! . I feel at times and we all must sometimes think the same that owning a Morgan is a privilege not to be abused and when people approach me I treat them with respect and answer their questions . Unless they get personal then its time to tell them I am in a hurry or some people seem to want to pin you down for a long talk . I have a sheet of A4 with all the details of the Morgan its laminated and I slip it behind the wiper then I can wander off . The last words are in capitals, only touch me if you are naked as zips and buttons can scratch my body , on approaching the mog if you stand back a while you can have a wry smile at the comments you hear .

Well there's nowt so queer as folk as I'm sure JTL will agree, but it does beggar belief. I'm often confronted by people interested in my morgan (or indeed my TVR before that) and it would never cross my mind to be anything other than friendly, informative and enthusiastic about the marque. Just goes to show how corrupting the life of Riley can be......
