I have a 2010 4 seater. Because I very rarely put up the hood, I have now found that I can't release the rear hood latches by pulling the toggle under the dashboard. I unscrewed the inside panel at the back and could pull the lever to release the latch from there. The cable still seems to be intact, it just appears to be stiff (it always was a bit stiff, even when it was new). I was thinking about getting a syringe and injecting a lubricating oil down the cable or is it better to just replace the whole cable? Has anyone else had this problem and what did they do about it?

Hi Dek, my late 2011 plus 4 catch is also tight and like you the roof is rarely up.
It was up for a couple of days last week as I had read on here that it is recommended to leave the roof up to prevent shrinkage.
Anyway, it has been recommended that pushing down where the catches are whilst pulling the toggle makes it easier to release.
Or, adjusting the catches to be a bit looser gives a more reliable fix
Just don't made them too loose as the seal may not be good enough when it rains.

The hood release on my 2 seater was as stiff as billy-o but a little grease on the catches improved matters 100%
