of course not G, its an Oak racing car with Morgan stickers. but hell at least its getting the name out there. Like you I'd like to have lived in the 20's and 30's but here we are in this crass commercial world when coca cola won't allow you to take anything other than their product into the Olympic stadium, no not even your own bottled water, and Olympic torch bearers who are supposed to be the pillars of society, fund raisers etc, are selling their torches and outfits for stupid sums of money? get used to it mate, CM's crimes are miniscule by comparison.

Totally agree with you Rob and maybe CM's main reason for doing the Gumball. . . is to have some fun; which seems like an excellent reason to me Bud

For sure a nice set of cars, lots of engineering master pieces. A garage like that would solve the problems in filling your leisure hours. Just one thing...all the stickers and wrapping...someone seems to be thirsting for attention (and people at the manufacturers design departments must be crying). I would have prefered them al naturale. I also realize that I have passed the 40 limit (age that is)...when I just think "brats" when seeing Gumball videos..or maybe I am just jealous Imagine doing Gumball in a "sticker free" stock 4/4 with tweed jacket, leather cap and waxed handlebar moustache - that would be my ball of gum

Rob, as always, a measured, honest comment. I don't need to tell you about the close attention I pay to LM Series racing and, to an extent I have sympathy with the " get the name out there" theme but I just can't help thinking it's a cheap shot and does little to advance Morgan's image I have far more sympathy with those poor b*ggers from JLOC who enter a Lambo every year and are lucky if they finish- at least they're being honest Ok, I accept that I'm being perhaps a little naive here but to me, it just don't work regards as always G PS still trying to persuade the building millionaire to get a 'vette to repace the Aston but with little success. Might have to buy one myself. Mind you. he's been looking at an Invicta- THAT should be interesting!!

When GLLHG posts a positive comment (without a negative one attached close by) I may start to take more notice of what he has to say.
In the meantime, if it's all based on criticism I will assume he wishes to drive ordinary cars and that he is not really a Morgan fan in any useful way.
(Ex Brand new Porsche 911 with lots of faults but not much to make me feel better so now gone!!!!)
My Morgan S3 has been flawed but wonderful - would not want to change it for anything (most of the time).

don't be too hard on G, he's a lovely bloke, even if there's a lot less of him these days. Gerwyn, as ever, you're Profesorial thoughts are to the point and always valid, get Dawson sorted and lets have a meet up, whether its at LM or in Sunny Wales, I'm sure I could persuade Ian to bring the SS, which I think you'd love. regards

G is a good egg and despite his, often, acerbic comments, his heart is in the right place (even if, as Rob said, the circa 1920's Biggles place ). What I think is nice is that people can voice their opinion on TM, even if it differs from that of the moderators and admin team; without fear of getting banned, or ranted at via email. Now grandpa G, go back to bed and wake up on the happy side Rob, if you manage to drag him out of deep dark Wales, let us know and I'm sure the Surrey gang (+Asbo) would meet up with you in an attempt to cheer the miserable curmudgeon up.

Well it's good to know that Gerwyns heart is in the right place, even thyough to one or two of us newbies his comments do seem a little too negative, and, more importantly, it's good that TM is a bigger enought place to not only tolerate these comments, but, in fact encourage them in the name of balance and diversity.
Gerwyn, although I don't know you, I am begining to like you already.
However, back to his comments about Champagne Charlies latest exploits in the Gumball. I think G. is right, it is cheap publicity, but not in the way he meant, as an introduction to the American market, what better way is their to prove the car and show people across America what it is and what it is capable of?
Additionally, think of it as a major shake down test, if CM finds stuff he doesn't like, which he will, or things that don't work as they should, he will be in the best position to get them improved on his return.
Whilst I haven't really 'followed' the Gumball, I get the feeling that it is a much improved and organised event than it was all those years ago when it was a bunch of nutters crossing the country as fast as they could, even though that image still sticks, not helped by the tragic accident.

G, they've got you sussed, all of them I'm no Gumball fan (loved the Canonball film though ) but I do like seeing lots of nice cars together driving fast on decent roads (there is an obvious limit though). Having just comeback from a little three day run to Spa and back in the company of nearly a dozen nice cars, I yearn for a Ferrari, having spent time watching, listening and drooling over a glorious 599 GTO! So attraction by exposure sure works!!!
