I am looking to install aftermarket seats (recaro, corbeau etc) for some longer distance and sporting type driving. Having difficulty finding a good seat that will fit well into my 1972 plus 8. Any recommendations on manufacturer and seat type that fits well? Located in California. Fortunately I have a 29 inch waist so is mostly an issue for fitment in the car rather than me fitting into a seat. Thanks!

2nd the Rev...probably the only one that will fit anyhow.

I'd recommend the Ali Sparco Pro mouns that go under the seat. You can do a trim job to get them round the rear chassis cross rail. They're the best quality fit and provide the lowest seating position.

You'll also need to trim the seat edge round the transmission tunnel - just pull back the cover and trim with saw. If you are fitting 2 you'll need to trim the wing section where your shoulders go as the two seats foul each other when fitted.

Get a couple of seat boulsters as well as if you are travelling long distance you'll need the support.

Not strictly true- Mulfab do correctly fitting side mounting Morgan ones that fit the seat as low as possible

If you are feeling really adventurous it is also possible to modify the crossmember behind the seats to gain legroom and lose another inch or so of seat height

you should be made aware that modifying the seat in anyway invalidates any manufacturers liability or warranty

Thanks guys. This info rocks as I was just about to give up. I'll post photos of the install. I'll take any other recommendations out there.

I was going to suggest Allon Whites sports seats...but then realised you are over the pond!

Thanks Jay. Any contact info on Allon Whites. I'm game to coordinate shipping if it's feasible. -Vince.
