Anyone out there know a high class chroming place .

I sent my front and rear alloy bumpers to be re-chromed in late Jan they have had them since early Feb and when I call I get B/S from these idiots at Colonnade Metal ,Middx . Just been told in a rude swearing attitude do I want them posted back or wait another two weeks . If I take them back thats postage again and a repeat of more postage and waiting time with the next firm . I almost told him to shove them where the sun dont shine but bit my lip . If I can get a HONEST person to deal with who knows what he is doing then they come out.

My friends at 'Limn Historic' recommend the following:

"Derby Plating (in Derby, obviously) is the only place we use and the only place we would recommend. They charge fairly (although probably won't be the cheapest around) and provide a top notch service. Their turnaround time for large items (bumper etc) is usually 6 weeks, but this is a true time estimate and they are well worth the wait."

Derby Plating

I have no connection but sought advise only from a reliable source ....

Gave them all a try and no one chrome's alloy just the firm that was ignorant hence the chip on his shoulder . If I get the same attitude from them in two weeks time I will purchase S/steel ones .

Just curious - why do you want to chrome ally bumpers?

If you buy S/S, will you be selling the ally ones?

Cheers,

Graham,
they are already chromed done a few year ago up here but the firm changed hands and another closed down the new firm has the lot and picks what he wants to do. Hence them going south . Yes I will put them up for sale if he gives me a load of lip again . They have had them 4 month and I was told six weeks .

I've seen a couple of good things about these on bikers' web sites. I see they do work for Her Majesty The Queen as well: "could you make one's tiara glisten?".
