I've just seen the ad in the current edition of Miscellany for a SuperSports at 90K
Ok, this is a superb car ( The ex John Worrall car featured in his book) and it has all the bits: eg genuine Lawrence tune engine etc plus excellent provenance and the papers to prove it. I'm also aware that given the price John sold it for, the 'markup' isn't extortionate. I suspect the major selling point is that it is ( in relative terms at least) a cheap entry into historic racing but I'm wondering how many people would be tempted at that price ( I must declare an interest here- if my driving skills and reactions were better, I'd buy it)
Cheers
G

G, Ian bought a s/s 3 years ago for a lot less, less than I reckon was market value. there are s/s going for £120k plus with less provenance. However, given that TOK failed to sell in the recent past with a 90k reserve then perhaps this is overpriced.
I must say its a beautiful car, sadly I can't fit in the drivers seat as they're fixed and the steering wheel is right up against your chest. your new sylph like frame might just fit, ask Ian to give you a ride.

As a owner of a original hi-cowl SS, your comment re the steering wheel up against your chest did not make sense....maybe thats the case with low-cowl(line) cars but the early cars are fine.
As for value...they are easy cars to live with and have rarity on their side...I know the car being talking about and a price of 90k seems very reasonable...better than putting your money in a bank

If I won the lottery I would buy it in a heart beat. But without that elusive lottery win, I would be more tempted to buy the new +8 at a similar price.
