I favour pale beige trousers and the other day, after a run in the Morgan, I found black greasy marks behind the knee. I thought I must have brushed against something, certainly not my lovely clean car. Following day the same thing happened. swmbo not impressed with having to clean two pairs of otherwise freshly cleaned and ironed trousers.

I started to get suspicious and remembered the door swinging onto the back of my leg and snapping the door catch closed while I was putting the hood down. Back to the garage with a clean white cloth and I wiped it all around the door catches. Sure enough smears of black grease. With the days getting quite hot there is probably a little surplus grease starting to come out of the lock assembly.

Remedy idea : 1. clean the lock catch before a run (for the moment anyway) 2. Fit stainless door straps to hold the doors open.

Comma Manista is good for cleaning both hands and clothes.

Owners of vintage three wheelers are expert in getting mucky...

I recommend the Librands door check. THey work well & hold the door open on the flat or small hills. Plus the door opens far further so getting out especially if the hood is up is easier.

But I learned a long time ago once SWMBO came along only to wear dark trousers near greasy boys toys.
