Hi all,

I have been looking at the 4/4 Sport on and off for the last year. Not purchased yet but very much enjoying the looking.

One of the things that bugs me is that the very smart interior is spoiled by the addition of cheap plastic indicator and wiper stalks/switches which look like they have been pinched straight out of a cheap hatchback.

Against nice saddle leather and wood mota lita steering wheel it just looks odd.

Anyone know whether there is an option or an after-market alternative that is a bit more in keeping with the interior styling

Many thanks

Ask John Worrall ( HEART OF ENGLAND MORGANS ) he was telling me a while ago of some good ones and some rubbish that was costly .

All the new traditionals are saddled with cheap looking indicator/wiper stalks and steering column shrouds never mind a cheap looking steering wheel as standard. I'm looking at alternatives to the stalks at the moment. Tempted to go down Georges (007's) route and have them all on the dashboard!

Allon White has some stalks sitting in one of his display cases in his sales area which look interesting.

Stalks don't bother me, they are a bit utilitarian but function reliably, likewise the column shroud, I hardly notice it - I must admit the MK stuff looks top drawer but their walnut dash is too heavily figured - a bit Bavarian music box perhaps. wink

Thanks for posting the link to MK. The knurled stalks look very smart. Exactly what I had in mind

Same here, not bothered about the stalks, although it's probably just within the scope of a DIYer to make some. Alloy tube is easily obtained but a modellers lathe would be necessary for the ends - unless you could find a donor.
With regard to the dash, painted is more in keeping with Classic, but leather looks good.

I don't mind the indicator stalks but I did want the steering column shroud covered in leather. I have to say that I am a bit disappointed in the job that was done at Morgan as they did not fill the open part around the MotoLita boss the way Allon White does.

I am thinking of making a face plate for mine to match the walnut dash or alternatively having it covered in leather.

Hi,- I have a 4/4 sport with standard black leather wheel and love it all as it is - the indicators & wipers /lights can all be operated whilst keeping hands on the wheel by fingertips or even knuckles - very good ergonomically. I can even operate the indicators when my hand is on the gearlever - everything within easy reach - except of course the handbrake - my better half thinks it was designed by a pervert as her knee gets touched every time I use the handbrake. Now looking for a good-looking lass to test the theory!!
I like the body coloured dash - it fits in so well with the tan leather - and easy to keep clean.
The only drawback is the tatty bit of vinyl around the wheel boss - showing the wiring etc. - a firmer piece of material would solve the problem - I must get round to making something to do the job.

Gambalunga - thanks for posting the pic from Allon White. It's interesting how covering the cowling with leather really improves the look and takes away from the plasticky appearance of the standard set up.

I have actually been in to Allon White for an initial look and some advice. They were incredibly helpful.
