hi chaps, I have read a lot on this forum and others about power upgrades to the morgan 4/4 sport. Many many years ago I spend a shed load of cash on power upgrades that in the end did nothing bar make more noise, use more fuel and add to the cost of my insurance.
So as anyone with a newest 4/4 sport had any upgrades done to their car and then have it tested on a rolling road. if so I would like to know what you had done and the results. thanks, michael

Jays has had a few bits and bobs added - don't know if he's done the rolling road bit though. A pm to him could help answer a few questions maybe. sunny

Terry.....I'm still waiting to meet up with Mark at the factory to sort out their Aero racing Throttle Body conversion. He's away at the moment so hopefully I'll be getting it done at the end of this month.

So far my mods have been ITG filter and Librands Sports Exhaust system....a wee bit more power and a lot more noise and upgrades to the suspension, Panhard Rod and front brake reaction bars.

I would be interested to hear if the suspension modifications have fixed the lean problem?

You could try asking Richard Thorne. He's done alot of development I think, and all scientifically tested. He's got the ex Factory 4/4 with aero throttle bodies etc. there too

Have you tried a Google search?
Or talked to Omex direct - they developed the upgrade kit to give 150bhp with no loss of torque/power lower in the rev range, plus the emissions remained the same...

Cheers,

OZ....... I take it you mean lean due to spring sag? If so....the answer is no! The panhard rod does stop the rear end lurching sideways on the springs and proved its worth at Le Mans last weekend!

Terry.....My car is going to Omex so that they can develop their new ECU etc for the throttle body kit. As they will have to do rolling road tests I'll be asking for the printouts! Aero Racing tell me I should get between 155 to 160bhp with the throttle bodies and my sports exhaust system.

I agree Michael. The torque figure I was advised of by Mogsport for their very similar system ( sadly not not available) was 140 ft/lbs. I believe that was measured with the standard exhaust. This was the graph I was sent when considering the system.
