The UK ones are better than those that used to be in Kenya. They were basically brinks on their sides covered in asphalt. Miss then and you could damage a car.

My pet hate are those in Chinnor Bucks. The speed limit is 30 but they are there anyway. The first espcerience I had of them was on my BMW K75s.

The warning sign was covered by the hedge & the white markings were missing. I was lucky not to be dead.

It reminds me of Malta. No point having speed humps, the state of the roads means one cannot drive at any appreciable speed, frequently not even near the posted limit...

Found that a fair few villages in SW France have them - and of quite arbitrary design. Also completely unavoidable, as the main "D" road passing through would be so equipped. However - more of the "plateau" type than the "short-sharp-sickening-crash" variety, thank Heavens!

The worst we encountered, however, were in Spain, in a small town called Llodio, just South of Bilbao. They were absolutely HUGE! Got some funny looks as we crept over them in the Roadster at <1 mph, listening for the unmistakable gut-wrenching scrape of aluminium on tarmac.

My advice - if you find yourself in desperate need of petrol after landing at Bilbao - don't go to Llodio! Petrol stations are astonishingly rare on the AP68 going south from Bilbao. I shall never again make the mistake of boarding the Ferry at Portsmouth with little or no fuel in the tank!

Fortunately - at the last check - I still have a sump thumbs

Strange this is being discussed as we heard the horrible noise as we came out of a petrol station at the weekend. We were going over very slowly so no damage done. It made me check the ground clearance of the car.
3 1/4" / 83mm at the gearbox bracket.

The petrol station is on the A46 equidistant between the roundabouts at Evesham and Teddington.
It is the one attached to a transport cafe, so a likely pullin on the way south to Prescott or the M5. So please be careful.

The Plus 4 with standard tyres, 195/60 R15, is the lowest trad that morgan make. Just on the tyres alone the Plus 4 SS is 16 mm higher. The Morgan secification for ground clearance is 100 mm unladen. I can't imagine where they get that figure from.

Best bet to get a bit more ground clearance is to fit 195/65 tyres. That will give you 10 mm more which, when we are talking about speed bumps can make a lot of difference. On the latest production however there may be problems with springs too low. A recent comparison with a Plus 4 of the previous series showed that the current series is much lower.
