One tour was for their 60th anniversary and the other was when I did a visit with a Lotus club. Neither were the heritage tour. And both were some time ago so dont rely on my accuracy - these days I have difficulty remembering what I did this morning!

Well...the car fleet isn't expanding just yet. I was due to pop in to Matty's today to sort out a test drive only to have them ring me this morning...the car was sold just after I looked at it! The g/f told me on Saturday to put a deposit on it and I told her not to be daft ooo

Still.....it means that the search goes on and thats all part of the fun!

Looked like it could be a good motor J.
Sometimes the ladies are right! I presume they would have allowed a refundable deposit, in case you didn't like some aspects of the car?

Back to the tour, just spoke to Lotus and the Heritage tour normally takes about 2.5 - 2.75 hours. Normally finished by 17:00 at very latest... So B&B booking in should be OK without arranging 'out of hours' arrival.

Table for 5, in the room with the carriage seats, is booked for 12:15 - 12:30, in the name of Wright, at the Station Bistro. smile

Cheers,

Cheers Graham!

I should have posted the spec sheet for the Plus2 that Matty gave me.... around £40k of rebuild costs for a car thats sold for £18K! I should kick myself but am telling myself that it was the value of the car with a full restoration that was the attraction and could I REALLY live with a silver metal flake roof?!! My heart really tells me a 2 seater Elan rather than the 2+2 really!

What was funny was that I turned up there today in the Morgan and was told that the guy from Yorkshire who bought it on Saturday afternoon (without a test drive!) was a Morgan owner too. I just had to check on his name to make sure there was no neoprene involved!!! And the nice thing is that Paul Matty offered to reduce the price of a couple of cars for me to make up for losing the Plus2....including a Sprint which is due for some refurb work. Very tempting apart from a rather large roll cage and about £5k over my budget!

Thanks Graham. We will attempt to time our arrival to fit the pie timetable. grin2

Oi!!!! One thing I'm not is a sneaky Lotus stealer. But I do like that seventies coarse grain metalflake. The Plus 2 has a great interior as well, but the Elan is a heart stealer, and always was.
