I am interested in ordering a spare wheel cover for my +4 when it comes.

This is because I am likely to go for a black car with the black sport wires and, assuming I go for a spare on the rear, I think the black wire looks a little heavy on a black car and a spare wheel cover mitigates that somewhat (particularly if it has some lighter coloured piping around the front edge).

However, I am not keen on the standard Morgan vinyl item with the wings logo.

Can anyone advise on alternatives? I would like a mohair one. Simmons used to make a nice one but I can't find it on their site anymore. Or could Morgan's trim department make me a bespoke item?

Mohair is tighter so making it harder to slip on and off the tyre also it takes a lot more looking after . But if your hood is mohair then the cover has to match . I agree black on black kills it for me .

Try Dave Kriesel 01886 880370 who lives in Cradley near Malvern- Highly recommended. He made a cover for my Plus 8.

I'll second that, Dave made a new hood for my +8 last year and made a super job of it.

We got a mohair spare cover as part of the set (hood cover and sidescreen bag) that I ordered. I did not know it was part of the set, either that or it was made for us in error, and we haven't used it so far.

I recomend Dave Kriesel, he made a new mohair hood and spare wheel cover for my +4 4 seater. Great job.

Has anyone had a spare wheel cover spun from aluminium. I think it would look quite good painted body colour. You used to see them on some vehicles in the 1950's. Land Rover Tickford Station Wagons had them

That's going back a bit!
I'd forgotten the old Tickford LR S/W... Probably worth a fortune now...

Thanks all for your suggestions. I may give Mr Krisel a call when the time comes.

Fairly sure I saw one on a vehicle at Waddesdon the other week. No idea whose it was, but maybe this will jog someone's memory.
