The screen frames in my new 4/4 are painted a light grey type colour which look at bit at odds with he rest if the car

My son-in-law is
a crome plater and I wondered whether it is possible/sensible to chrome these frames?

Are we talking about the side screen frames here? I agree about the colour- not the most attractive and the finish isn't brilliant. I know that John W at HoE Morgans sells stainless steel replacements and I've fitted those. They work well and look a heck of a lot better
I'm going to ask a typical layman's question here- given that the frames will be subject to torsion and bending via things such as wind forces etc, will the chrome crack? I'm sure your s-i-l can answer tht without any difficulty. If there's not a problem, then c-ping shouldn't be too difficult?

I think you are referring to the alloy windscreen supports which are very similar to the Easyup screen supports and have now replaced the older style stainless steel supports. I'm not sure how effective chrome plating alloy is.
