Pistonheads are also reporting it as news.

All I will say is that I wouldn't jump to any conclusions based on the articles quoted. I could be wrong but they seem unfounded and based on speculation rather than fact.

46k? Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Sorry I'd rather have a Plus 8.

Re: New Morgan 3 Wheeler - 04/10/10 12:10 PM

Let us think about this logically, something that the Telegraph and Pistonheads (who are simply regurgitating any story they can find to build content for their site) seem to be avoiding, why would Morgan put a 3-Wheeler at the top of their Classic Car range?

A Roadster V6 is 42,322.73 without options; who in their right mind would put an MSRP on the 3-Wheeler that would make it the top of the range?

Guys, you're all intelligent people and therefore I ask you, does an MSRP make sense?

Here's one newspaper article with a significantly lower price:

Re: New Morgan 3 Wheeler 2011 - 04/10/10 03:10 PM

Hmm... that is interesting news.... I always loved the sight of a Morgan 3wheeler .... a new version could be enticing....

There is some grain of truth in the article. I checked the website by Ace Cycle Car (Seattle) quickly. On the home page they have added a logo saying "Constructed under the license of The Morgan 3Wheeler Ltd Malvern UK".... I am not sure when I checked the ACE website last time, but I can't recall having seen that logo before confused2

On the "Specification" page it actually says "$48k US and up".... thats about 30k GBP or 35k Euro.... not adjusted for any VAT differences.

Re: New Morgan 3 Wheeler 2011 - 04/10/10 10:42 PM

Did anyone notice the Richard Thorne add in this months Miscellany for a 2010 +4 2.0 Duatec Centenary Limited Edition in Metallic Amazon Green with all of the Centenary 100 spec. @ 33850 (1 previous owner) idea

Was such a 'Centenary' vehicle ever made in numbers, in identical spec to the Centenary Roadster 100? I must give them a call tomorrow? mail

Re: New Morgan 3 Wheeler 2011 - 05/10/10 06:33 AM

Frank, wasn't there an upgrade that you could purchase called the 'Centenary Pack' in 2010? I believe this could be fitted to Plus 4s but I may be mistaken.

Re: New Morgan 3 Wheeler 2011 - 05/10/10 09:03 AM

It is my guess that in the UK they will be bound by the same legislation as motorcycles; however, I may be incorrect in this assumption.

My guess - and it is a guess - is that it will be under 30,000 VAT included. However, as above, I may be incorrect.

Helen at Richard Thorne confirmed this to me this morning. They offered the pack for the Roadster and the +4.

It is just a pity that MMC offered the Amazon Green Metalic Paint Colour as well just to confuse with the Limited Edition Roadster 100 which is identical but for the Rear End and Firewall Badges. doh

Re: New Morgan 3 Wheeler 2011 - 06/10/10 01:21 PM

how so? 30k * 1.6 (rough estimate for change)= $48k

and if the car are manufactured in the UK then ship to the US there might be some savings for morgan.

I considered my position and rationalised that it was akin to providing meals-on-wheels to the elderly - only I made them drive to their lunch. wink

If MMC get the pricing right and make the car as exciting as it has the potential to be; I will be sorely tempted.

1. This car is a motorbike! They intend to crash test it, even though there is no legal compulsion to do so.
2. I doubt it.
3. Any relative of the ptang pear? smile

Boshers,
I had assumed that it would be your new celtic sentiment that would have put you forward -- most strange that any of the "other" lot would hide

There again it must clearly have been your new caring influence!!!!!!!!!!!!

Or my Irish surname and 50% Irish genes wink

...come to think of it, Aeroman has a good dose of the Emerald Isle in him... so with his wallet trick, perhaps that isn't a good thing!

(ps - Aeroman squared up - ever the gent that he is - therefore, I view this as Boshly the Celt trying to stir things up grin2 )
