Difficult is an understatement when it comes to marketing funds.

You throw money at the problem and see what sticks. If half sticks you learn one thing. If your first thought is "cool - half stuck" then you now know for a fact you are a glass half full person. What happens after that remains a mystery to me.

Half full view
At least they are making a proactive effort to raise the profile of the company. It is good to be associated with LeMans ask Porsche.

Half empty
Can I order that on Monday. mad2 After all thats what Enzo did. All that money - thats £5000 on the price of the next 100 cars..... or a half price Aero Coupe for me alone. evil

Hang on guys how do we/you know what it cost?

Is the £500k a bandied around genuine figure? Personally I doubt it but not speaking from any position of knowledge.

Was there an advantage in Oak Racing being associated with Morgan? After all it would seem significantly more people know about Oak Racing now than did before the sponsorship.

Anyone actually in the know?

Given the size of MMC I'd be very surprised if it was anything like £500k I doubt that this was the amount spent on 3 wheeler development.

Now given that Simon is offering TM stickers for less than the cost of a curry, and we are talking about a similar sized sticker I'd it the price as nearer the curry.

If that is an accurate and realisitc assessment, then God help us! Let's not forget that it is also a major source of employment to a very good workforce. I know I often speak as a cynic who isn't a fan of Charles M but if that is the case- or even more importantly, is seen to be the case by his customer base, then serious times are ahead.
I know he often doesn't help himself in terms of the image he portrays but I do hope that even he imbibed enough fron his father not to fall into that trap
As a lifelong fan of the marque, I certainly hope not

It's a difficult time for small manufacturers and I do think it is legitimate to try every means to raise profile. if this Oak venture succeeds, then good luck to 'em. Personally I have reservations about it but I'm not naive and I can see the advantages. Let's hope it pays off

G, I'm not sure they even paid a penny? I think it was a dual publicity thing, but wanted not to be all knowing when reality is I don't know for sure and just in case someone else had anything cast iron ....

Please do not take the £500k as anything other than a hypothetical number thrown in by Howard. As I said before, unless someone knows better?

As for CM, whatever you may think of him, the reality is also that though his name is above the door there are a Board of Directors and a number of shareholders so there is some accountability, he isn't just walking around making unilateral decisions wiIly nilly.

Agree. In fact, as I understand it there is a pretty tight structure in place in this respect
