since the damping is mounded into any hole of the road
what should he do?
    change the main spring?
    shim to raise the car?

thank you for your advice

Welcome to the forum Constantin,
This subject has been discussed on here before however, apart from a tie down issue for vehicles transported to Australia, there was no definitive reason established for an apparent lean.

If you are lucky to have access to a level car lift you could take measurements
of the car from the chassis as a datum and take it from there.

I just wonder if it is the body that is not level, as it is put together by hand.
Just a thought.

According to my dealer - who had my car in for service last week, and checked the ride height - my chassis is level (more or less): the difference in measurement from the ground to rear wheelarch lip each side is due to "hand-built" tolerances.

Can't say I'm entirely convinced by this - but the difference is small enough after a continental trip two-up to be disregarded, I feel.

Now that we're back in Blighty, and the Roadster's carrying my not inconsiderable bulk solo, more often than not, doubtless it'll sag again drive

Attending an Autotrade show Birmihgham back in the very early 90s i was showing interet in a new Jig that was Lazer and computer pointed. On the jig was sat a Rover 800 series 2.

The rear Chassis legs were out 12mm in Height, (this was an original car not a repaired one)

When i queried this, the Demonstrator replied Rover say this is an acceptable tolerance. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm hence i never owned a Rover.

I can't offer any useful advice other than to measure the main springs on level ground and to check the tyre pressure are the same, but there may be something useful to help your thoughts here -

http://www.gomog.com/allmorgan/front.htm

Also From GoMog Troubleshooting

Ride and Handling Worn shock absorbers or other suspension components - or improper tire inflation - can contribute to poor cornering. While there is no hard and fast rule about when to replace shock absorbers or struts, try this test: bounce the vehicle up and down hard at each wheel and then let go. See how many times the vehicle bounces. Weak shocks will allow the vehicle to bounce twice or more. Springs do not normally wear out and do not need replacement unless one corner of the vehicle is lower than the others. Overloading your vehicle can damage the springs. Balance tires properly. An unbalanced or improperly balanced tire causes a vehicle to vibrate and may wear steering and suspension components prematurely.
