Retro Rear End

Ever since I have had my car (2002 LM62 4/4) I have always felt that the later design of a higher number plate was always a compromise against the classic styling of the rear of the Morgan.

I therefore set to and created a new valance and repositioned the fog and reversing lights below the bodyline. It is a squeeze and only just fits the narrower 4/4 body but I feel it is an improvement and more of the original retro look of the 60's cars. It is also possible to remove the over riders (with luggage rack brackets) if required (or not required!)

Very neat. Have you done the same to the front plate as well?...I never liked the raised position and slight upwards angle on the later cars.

Jay,
The upward angle of the numberplate is easily solved by inserting wedges behind the numberplate box. The best ones to use are found in a ship's chandelry or Dinghy shop and are the wedges that angle small cleats on a dinghy deck. You may need longer bolts, but the finished effect is pleasing.

Cheers!

Rollocks. Friday I am on the last flight out of Barcelona & Saturday the Mother in Law is in town.

As an ex resident of Bavaria I love a good beerfest.

Robbie.....I've actually gone down a very similar route to Keiths on the front number plate, now I've seen his previous postings re his spot light brackets.

I'd bought a Librands flat badge bar and decided to drop the number plate box down and vertically with a pair of new brackets. Librands provide a pair but they drop the box too low and leave a gap between the bottom of the grill and the top of the box, so made up some new brackets.

Very neat, incidentally number plate length is governed by number of letters/ numbers, as your reg contains only 6 digits inc the space you would be within the law to fit a shorter plate.
