For 2 Seaters with Easy up hoods, i can see it might be a bit superfluous

Probably more hassle than it's worth unless it's a split tonneau and its been driven with just the driver, hood down nearly all the time whatever the weather with the half tonneau over the passenger seat.

For 4 Seater owners of any age, i think it's a must if the rear seats don't get used all the time, which would be rare.
