Honestly, chaps! Could we possibly get back to the topic. I agree with Peter that the grime-sucking tendencies of our Plus 8 cars IS a serious drawback. I have driven open top cars for 33 years now and have had Peugeot, Ford, Porsche and BMW in many different shapes and guises. None of them fouled their own nest. The Plus 8 gets absolutely covered in dirt after just a few hours of slow driving on gravel roads when I hunt for mushrooms, and when I drove to Italy it disabled me with conjunctivitis due to all the grit in spite of wearing wraparound sunglasses. I have to wear air force goggles on longer trips. If one holds up ones hand one notices that the airflow indeed goes forward, in the direction that Your car takes, even when held at the level of the seat. So, clearly, there is a huge turbulence problem. I wonder if one could add a 10 cm extension attached to the bottom rear of the car. Has anybody tried that solution?
