I have a 1996 +4 and I have fitted extra bright LED bulbs (ba9) in the wing lights.

They are much brighter than the type with LEDs on the sides of the bulb, although physically smaller.

Paste this to open up the e-bay page that sells similar bulbs:

I have them wired to operate as both daytime driving lights (to be seen by) and normal parking lights as they were originally meant to be. I use a relay circuit to control them and when used as parking lights a series potentiometer is automatically used to reduce the brightness to more or less what it was before.

I'm very pleased with how they work and how they look. Nothing is visually different except that when used as parking lights they give a whiter light than the old filament bulbs. Other than that, I now have automatically operated daytime driving lights.

A purist point - the wing lights don't meet the EU standard for DDLs because the lit area isn't big enough. However, because my car is 1996 the rules don't apply. I guess that DDLs are not standard on any classic Morgans because the model age is pre the requirement to have them. If there is any sort of minor infingement (I don't think there is) I am just pleased to be seen and I'll live with it for now.

A point of caution - check the polarity of the bulbs to suit the installation. Some LED bulbs are dual polarity, some are not.

The arrangement is effective without changing the appearance of the car, which I lke. I didn't have to do much to the existing wiring, other than to intercept the wiring to the lights and pick up a fused feed (I used the spotlight feed) and tap in to get an 'ignition on' signal.

As an increasingly proportion of cars on the road get DDLs it makes sense to have them. Of course, since I did my lights there are now a number of other ways of doing it, including halo headlights. They look modern and are visible, but they are good.

No two Morgans are alike.
