I have never liked grey and I can't understand why it is popular when I would expect it to be the least safe colour. I read an article years ago that Yellow is the safest colour as white can blend into the concrete jungle we now live in.

When we bought our Octavia it was a choice of Blue, Black, white or a few different shades of grey. We wanted a manual and with that gearbox could buy a black demonstrator or a grey one that had the same specs as we wanted but in the end my wife said no we will wait 3 months for a special order and take Blue. 9 months later the car finally turns up and it looks very nice but there is a nice Green and nice red one. The green is now a stock colour for the Octavia. My wife says I like that green maybe next one we will got for that and I said I like the red. I mentioned to the dealer that the brochure he showed us didn't have those colour options, his replied when you order a car it has to be made to your specs and while we will not buy different paint Skoda is happy for you to chose any colour from any more, the red is a Rapid colour and the Green a Fabia colour. I was a bit grumpy he told me afterwards rather than when we ordered the car but I am still very happy with the blue.

When my manual turned up the dealer told me he got 5 orders for manuals that weekend while it sat there in the showroom. People do still like manuals but I guess don't realise you can still get some cars with a real gearbox until they see one.
