I’ve seen a couple of cars I’d consider buying as my ‘lockdown 3 project’. All are private sales. For COVID reasons I’m not able to travel to inspect them personally but i am prepared to take the gamble anyway. I’d have to use a transport company to deliver the car to me. I wouldn’t expect a seller to release his car without payment. I don’t want to send payment until I’m certain the car has been released. Catch 22.

Any solutions? C heers

Ps. I know I can buy from a dealer and use a credit card, distance selling rules then apply. Dealers have massively inflated their prices as a result.

I don't think delivering project cars is considered a necessary journey

I certainly won’t be collecting or delivering anything. I go out once a week for shopping. I’d use a commercial company who do this work all the time. Hence I’d have to buy the car blind.

We are in total lockdown and commercial companies should not be doing it either.
