No it's quite safe so long as you allow enough time for the washer to finish before the SWMBO comes home. LoL.

I once had a alloy barrel in the oven to remove the cylinder liner and unfortunately the owner of the barrel had just painted it with some barrel paint without puting it through a heat cycle. So I left the barrel in the oven and went to the shed to get the liner removal tools, well when I returned I could not see a lot because of the smoke. I managed to get the liner out OK but the room was still halve full of smoke when my wife returned!!!
After this I had to "invest" (a term you should always use when buying tools!!!) in a large propane torch which did prove a good buy.
