So far I have had all the usual 'what will you take for it?' emails, calls from auction houses absolutely promising the earth, and not a few calls from people who turn out to have no intention of buying my car or any other. The best (worst?) so far was a clearly knowledgeable chap who asked me detailed questions for the best part of an hour, knew a lot about the 4/4, appeared to be a MSCC member etc, and who simply failed to turn up having booked a viewing. All subsequent emails went unanswered. The only decent offer was from Tim Ayres for a P/X against a +8; it was more than fair, but the car wasn't for me.

Oh well, there's always next year...

One of the problems with selling privately is having to deal with "tyre kickers".

On the other hand, in a falling market, it's not unreasonable to expect that potential buyers will be wanting a "bargain" price.

I recently purchased a really nice Plus 8 at substantially below the owners original asking price. To be fair the owner had already dropped the price three times and the car had been for sale for more than a year. Mine was the only offer he received !
