Would be interesting to hear what these mods were and the motivation for their development (and what makes them clumsy). 13K miles is pretty impressive...
Yes, his trips were VERY impressive, my favorite pic was of him in #2 across from a Bison in Yellowstone! He is an inspiration to live life for the moments that take your breath away, and not just live for the number of breaths you take,

Some of the mods…
The ugliest IMO was bolting more plexiglass to windscreens by drilling through the originals, the old bases were brush painted silver with some clear silicone too = new windscreen bases have been made and I’m very close to getting new screens back from the plastic drape molder (expensive and taking forever)

He also bolted extra plexi to his M3W, although that seems a bit more carefully done; not sure why he didn’t just do it right and get the proper part?
Drivers side 4-point harness, that was attached at the shoulders with one sheet metal screw on each side behind the seat?!? though the bases were structurally bolted = new original drivers belt installed.

Exhaust mufflers cut with a hacksaw to add some stainless tips (quieter?) = New original mufflers bought and installed.

In the pic above you can see the exhaust tips, a license plate frame with a flashing red brake light (I understand the safety of these but still hate them), and a ‘rear view mirror’ (also seen in the first pic) mounted by drilling a random hole through the dash. Also randomly drilled into the dash were some additional reverse system LEDs indicator lights = new metal dash powder coated crinkle black. (used a laser level to reinstall everything)

Mounting a TomTom navigation with a fist full of zip ties = straight to the bin.
I'm glad that I got #2 and have been able to give her some deserved love, I’ve also had #2 paint corrected, polished, and ceramic coated, just in case I go through with selling.
