The only real discomfort I get in my Morgan is my left ankle on long trips. I've never really found a comfortable rest for it.

PJB very kindly sent me a template for the rather neat clutch rest he has fitted to his car and I've just made up the first protoype for my 4/4. It's constructed from 1.5mm alloy and hand beaten into shape in the best traditions of MMC! I have louvres a miss as I have enough of those wink

The design is quite neat, the front of the rest is angled inwards to the transmission tunnel to prevent the clutch pedal or shoe catching it and there is just enough area to rest the edge of the foot. It is attached to the floor with a couple of screws and reinforcing washers. The only mods I've made to Peter's design is to shape the foot rest area slightly differently to match my tunnel and shape a return around all the edges abutting the tunnel to avoid any damage to the leather.

I'll post a picture of the template if Peter has no objections.

Looks like a good solution. I find the absence of a clutch rest annoying as well.

Nice - It's begging for a matched leather cover. Shame it isn't black, I have some in stock. However if black will do, send me the dimensions.I also have some fluted rubber which would look good on the foot facing section.

As a matter of record I put my foot flat on the floor, but then I'm only a short 'rse

I am going to try that, looks neat. Great if the template could be available. I am on the tall side and struggle with that left foot on longer trips.

Not neoprene Dave? wink I have some tan leather which is a close match to my interior...and some ribbed rubber ( matting in case someone thinks I'm talking about safe sex!) but I want to use it for a while in case I need to mod it slightly. Thanks for the offer though.

In a Laural & Hardy voice..."Thats another fine job you've got me into!"

I have thought about that for a while and this is the inspiration I needed.

Many thanks

I've just learned to rest my foot against (but not pressing on) the clutch pedal, or flat on the floor.
