I like it, my uncle could peel an orange in his pocket and not spill the juice eat the contents fit the peel together and return it to the shop saying it was not up to scratch and ask for his cash back .The @!%*$? still owes me £10/- from 1979 ( Its the Scottish blood in me also. )

Someone mentioned that, to make the perfect cup of tea, I should agitate the bag.
So I told her to get off her fat a*se and put the kettle on. That's along the lines of.... I had to buy some dishwasher tablets the other day.....my wife had a headache. Or " Why do brides wear white, so they match the rest of the kitchen appliances"

My body If my body were a car, this is the time I would be thinking about trading it in for a newer model. I've got bumps and dents and scratches in my finish, and my paint job is getting a little dull. But that's not the worst of it. - My headlights are out of focus, and it's especially hard to see things up close.
- My traction is not as graceful as it once was. I slip and slide and skid and bump into things even in the best of weather.
- My whitewalls are stained with varicose veins. It takes me hours to reach my maximum speed. My fuel rate burns inefficiently.
But here's the very worst of it: - Almost every time I sneeze, cough or laugh, either my radiator leaks or my exhaust backfires.
Peter, this hits a nerve (pun)at this time, as my shoulder op has gone from bad to worse. Was taken to local emergency dept on Saturday with shoulder nerve pain, so intense that 20mg of Morphine had no effect, nor the other two pain injections they gave. I wound up being given two lots of Ketamine and now know what it's like to be inside a pinball machine ( 1st set of hallucinations) and fly to the moon (2nd set). Transferred at midnight to largest city hospital. Pain has almost disappeared but still in until Wednesday to try and find the cause. I hate getting old, the chassis is starting to deteriorate.

Graeme, very sorry to hear that Mate. Not good at all. At least the cricket should cheer you up? (It was another hallucination that it was a pom-wash!).

There was a discussion about the obscene cost of entry into Premiership football games, the cheapest price of £60 and £100 per game is not uncommon. An older chap said he could recall many years ago arriving at the turnstiles (it was probably West Ham United): "That will be ten quid, mate". "What?!" the old chap said "I could get a woman for that!" The guy on the turnstile retorted, "Not for 45 minutes each way, with a brass band and a meat pie in the interval, you wouldn't!"

Sorry to hear that Graeme. I hope it gets better soon. I can sympathise because about a year ago I developed an incredible back pain in the lower back and our doctor friend prescibed a series of injections as well as pain killers and even gave me a heating "kidney belt". I was in pain in almost any position you could think of except in the seat of the Morgan I find the seat in our Mog amazingly comfortable. After about 2 weeks the pain started to ease and after 3 it was almost completely gone. It has not re-occured thank goodness. I hope you can say the same in a year's time.

Four or five years ago I traveled from london to paris by plane, and the passenger in the row behind me told the following expertise to his coworker beside him:
Best case Europe would be: British police, german engineering, swiss banking, italian design, and french cuisine.
Worst case Europe would be: German police, italian banking, french engineering, swiss design and british cuisine.
I had to smile either, but there are some facts that guy did not know: French high speed train runs faster than german ones - and is more cost effective due to better route planning. Employees of swiss banks had illegally sold the names and addresses of german tax evasives to german gouvernments several times during the last years. British Police nowadays is heavier armed than german police officers. And the new german minister of defence is a woman...
I think, past times described in the joke were better in some respects ...
