Is that really the issue or are you excusing poor performance from MMC? I dont know what most other small volume car makers are like - maybe someone could comment on TVR or even Caterham. But Lotus, whose volumes these days are likely less than Morgan, dont have the same basic issues with things like water leaks. You have to have some sympathy with MMC about the engine because thats out of their hands in practical terms. I guess they might have been able to use a Guzzi V twin or maybe even a Harley rather than S&S but I'm not sure these would have been much moire reliable

About 50% of the time I park in the supermarket car-park or buy fuel someone will comment on the car, along the lines of:

"What a beautiful car"
"That is a proper car"
"You are so lucky to have one"
"That is fantastic"

Doesn't seem to be any link with the age of the person, I was sitting at traffic lights in town and three lads walked car and stopped, shouted "cool wheels" and gave me a "thumbs up".

The traditional Morgan "has something" which is perhaps why they are still in business.

I was once stuck in a traffic jam in Evesham (in the '76 car), behind a late 90s 4/4.
One lad walking up the pavement shouted "scrap heap" at me. I smiled and suggested that most of the modern tin boxes parked on the side of the road would be there long before my old classic smile

That has to be true. Something other than watertightness, mind you. innocent

Actually I have to say our car is pretty watertight. I took DaveW's suggestion and put 2 neoprene pads on top of the windscreen pillars and even driving under a virtual waterfall, or through a good 6" or more of water at 50kph (that was a surprise, wasn't it?) we don't get water in the car.

At 130 kph we get a slow drip coming over the top of the windscreen and under the hood rail but Morgan have given me the latest thicker neoprene to put in the bottom of the hood rail channel which should fix that umbrella

Picked up my new Roadster yesterday and drove home in pretty torrential rain most of the way - why does it always hiss dwon when I pick up a new Morgan?

Whilst the hood is a Neverflex one (more authentic for a Trad! wink ) I must say that I was delighted that I didn't get wet at all. There were the marks of some micro droplets of water on the windscreen surround this morning, but I never felt any water either on my face or clothes. Well done Morgan, a satisfied customer here and a big improvement on my Aero SuperSport. cheers flag

Cheers

Brian
